This policy describes how 2.0 Group LLC, doing business as Budgetvsactual.app ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information in connection with the Budgetvsactual.app web application and the budgetvsactual.app website (together, the "Service").
Our customers are businesses. Most of what we hold is business financial data, not personal data about consumers. Where this policy and the Terms and Conditions differ, the Terms govern.
1.1 Account information. Your name and email address, provided when you request access or are invited, together with authentication records — sign-in times and session tokens — handled by our identity provider.
1.2 Model data. Everything you enter into the application: financial assumptions, budgets, headcount plans, actuals, chart-of-accounts mappings, scenario variants, and any files you import. This is your data, and you own it (Terms §8.2).
1.3 Accounting-integration data. If you connect a QuickBooks Online account, we store the authorization tokens issued by Intuit and the company identifier for that connection, and we retrieve the accounting data you authorize. You can disconnect at any time.
1.4 Agreement records. When you accept our Terms, we record your user identifier, email address, the version and hash of the Terms accepted, the server timestamp, your IP address, and your browser user-agent string. This exists so that both of us have a durable record of what was agreed and when.
1.5 Support correspondence. Emails you send us and notes from onboarding or support conversations.
1.6 Server logs. Our hosting and database providers generate standard operational logs, including IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps.
2.1 We do not sell your data.
2.2 We do not use your data to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model, and we do not provide it to any third party for that purpose. The application performs deterministic financial calculations; nothing in it learns from your numbers. This commitment is contractual — see Terms §8.3.
2.3 We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or advertising cookies on the Service.
2.4 We do not connect to, access, or collect anything from your own product, platform, application, or customers. The only data we hold is what you put into our application.
3.1 We use the information described in Section 1 to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service; to provide the onboarding and support you have asked for; to bill and administer your subscription; to communicate with you about the Service; to comply with legal obligations; and to create Aggregated Data as described in Section 4.
4.1 We derive anonymized, aggregated statistics from customer data — for example typical conversion rates, acquisition costs, or margin ranges — and use them to operate and improve the Service and to develop and publish industry benchmarks and research.
4.2 Any statistic we publish or disclose outside our company is derived from no fewer than ten (10) distinct customer accounts. Aggregated statistics never identify you, your customers, your employees, or any individual, and never contain your underlying data in its original or reconstructable form.
4.3 Aggregated Data is a derived statistical work owned by us. Our ownership of it confers no ownership of, and no right to disclose, your underlying data, which remains yours. Terms §8.4 states these commitments contractually.
5.1 Service providers (subprocessors). We share your data with the following providers, and only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Role | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify, Inc. | Website and application hosting, serverless functions, user authentication | United States |
| Supabase, Inc. (on Amazon Web Services) | Managed database storing your models | United States |
| Intuit Inc. | QuickBooks Online accounting integration — only if you connect it | United States |
5.2 Content delivery and embedded media. Our web pages load presentation libraries from public content-delivery networks, and some pages embed a video player. These providers receive your IP address and browser information as a normal consequence of your browser requesting a file, but receive none of your model data.
5.3 People you authorize. When you share a company model with a colleague's email address, that person can view and edit that model until you remove them.
5.4 Our personnel. Our staff can access your models when providing onboarding, support, or troubleshooting, and to operate and secure the Service. We access customer models only for those purposes. We state this plainly because it is true of any product that offers hands-on help.
5.5 Legal. Where required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5.6 Business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6.1 Data is transmitted over TLS and encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers using AES-256 at the storage layer. Access to production systems is limited to personnel who need it. Application access requires authentication through our identity provider, and the Service is currently invite-only.
6.2 No system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to export a backup of your model — the application produces a complete Excel export at any time — at each significant milestone, as you would with any vendor.
7.1 We retain your model data for as long as your subscription is active. Following termination we have no obligation to retain or return your data (Terms §12.3), and we may delete it. Export your models before your final paid month ends.
7.2 You may request deletion of your account and model data at any time by emailing support@budgetvsactual.app. We will delete it within thirty (30) days, except where we are required to retain records by law, and except for the agreement-acceptance records described in Section 1.4, backup copies pending routine expiry, and Aggregated Data already created, which cannot be disaggregated.
8.1 You can access and edit all of your model data inside the application, export it in full at any time, remove people you have shared with, disconnect a QuickBooks connection, request deletion of your account, and unsubscribe from non-essential email while remaining a customer.
8.2 Depending on where you are located, you may have additional rights over personal data, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. To exercise any of them, email support@budgetvsactual.app. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
9.1 The Service is operated in the United States and your data is stored in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you are transferring your information to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.
10.1 The Service is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11.1 We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new version date and, where the change is significant, communicated by email.
